I think we all must be familiar with the art of doing nothing after all, this was the most exploited art during this pandemic condition!
"Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering." I think our generation took the advice of A. A. Miller too seriously. For, people all over the world have mastered this art!
Isn't it relaxing, doing nothing the entire day, just sitting around in your warm cosy blanket, scrolling your insta feed… checking how the hell other people are wasting their lives. And by other people I strictly mean people like "ME". Who just likes to roam around in the house touching everything but not picking up anything because holding it would require energy… and I'm on energy saving mode… classic lazy! I know, tell me about it...
Do you all ever wonder how the hell people have the energy to go out everyday. I mean the getting ready part, putting on a little makeup, going out and the most Deadly part, mingling with others! I mean I can understand one or twice a week… but everyday! "Kya majburi hai bhai..!"
And HOW & WHY the hell their parents allow them. If I have to go out, I'll have to provide one month prior notice to my mom which she would reply with "pehle Papa se pucho…" and if by any chance my father agreed to it, my mom would say "Roz to call pe baat krrti ho, kya zaroorat hai Milne ka…" So then I would have to start my drama (my ultimate weapon- bhookh hartal) a day prior to the assigned date to make my plan a success.
The beginning of this pandemic condition was a little different. It started with preparing dalgona coffee and burning cakes, trying our hands on the variety of dishes to "chopping" our own ugly bangs, following a skin care routine until we realised that our skin really didn't care. From "ludo" to "among us", "Binod" to "Shweta", watching "main tera" edit to "aur yaha hamari pawrii ho rahi hai" videos, getting ready just for the sake of clicking pictures to accepting our own "bhikhaario wala avtaar", developing weird hobbies to finally realising "yeah sbb mohh maya hai, aadmi akela aaya hai, akale hi jana hai!", We covered a really long time.
Personally speaking, I think all this time at home had been the best time of my life for doing absolutely nothing. Life had become "Netflix & chill" with caramel popcorn and dairy milk silk! Getting good grades without studying, no one disturbing my beauty-sleep till 12 in the noon, watching FRIENDS with every other series that I used to postpone, binge eating and putting on some extra weight … doing absolutely nothing productive without feeling guilty, It really had been a dream come true!
So my suggestion to all the already wise people out there following my schedule- enjoy this life for as long as it lasts. And now for those "Sharma ji ke perfect bacche" - "Kbhi kbhi kuch na krr ke dekho… acha lgta hai... eat 5 star… do nothing!"
