We've all known the flaws of being an introvert since eternity. We're even reminded of it every time we go at parties or at family gatherings by our aunties and buas. We're always made to feel that being an introvert can never be a good trait. Often, introverts are forced by their parents to publicly express their opinions when they're not comfortable in doing so. Their intentions behind this are good but the results can be catastrophic in long terms. This may result in them becoming more awkward and skeptic towards themselves, as well as giving the aunties and buas a little more masala for the next gathering (duh). Being an introvert has the advantage of teaching a person to listen. Listening enables a person to counter one's own set of beliefs and perspectives, and hence, form stronger opinions. The best part of listening more and speaking less is that it gives you time. Valuable time to think and understand what is there before you. Being able to reason is the first step towards becoming a true intellectual. Intellectualism is all we need in this modern day and age. In this digital era, it's not very hard to find a person or a group of people online having the same ideology as yours. So, it is very crucial for a person to develop reasoning. Good control at self-regulation is always a welcome trait for any individual. One doesn't necessarily have to be the most annoying person in the room to be considered an alpha by your class teacher. You can be an alpha just by being able to control and manage your behavioral and emotional processes neatly. The best part of being an introvert is that it teaches you to talk to yourself. In most situations, the first person you're going to argue in the room with, is yourself. Being an introvert may make you verbally quieter but it sure does create a constant noise inside your head. The noise that pushes you to your limits every day. This is the noise that keeps you driving at times you feel low and worthless. This is a desire to conquer the illusions created by the pseudo-intellectuals of today. We will be the ones who decide when it's time to speak. And when we will speak, the world will listen because we've been savoring our words for too long.
Our thoughts are like a bottle of wine, they only get better with time.
Also, by the way, girls adore good listeners too. So if you're a guy and an introvert, you have a better chance of wooing your crush than that best friend of hers you think she likes. :D
